ECO DOG TUESDAYS
We are often asked where to find accurate, thorough and true information on dog foods, so today I will give you a list of websites you can refer to when learning more about what your dog is eating.
This list is in no particular order, and I frequently visit most of them:
Dog Food Analysis: This site does not do any testing, however, it does look at the ingredient information on dog food labels; to provide an opinion about the quality of what that particular food is comprised of. Also, this site clearly defines their rating system and methodology which provides for an unbiased opinion (I think).
Pet Food Ratings: This site analyzes dry foods based on ingredient content and the author's experiences. Foods are rated for quality and cost.
Whole Dog Journal: Every year, the Whole Dog Journal publishes a list of "approved" canned dog foods. The criteria are rigorous, with emphasis on high quality protein sources, and foods with non-specific protein sources, by-products, artificial flavouring, additives, colour, preservatives, sugars etc are disqualified. This list is only available to subscribers.... and it is sure worth while to be a subscriber:)
